Description | Qualifications:
- Knowledge of guidelines governing essential office practices and procedures
- Knowledge of correct English language usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as strong proofreading skills
- Advanced skill in the use of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and use of the Internet as an information tool
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to routinely collect, maintain, and submit as needed a variety of records, including but not limited to student information, staff attendance, and purchasing
- Ability to establish and maintain filing systems on a variety of school operations
- Ability to handle a wide variety of administrative assignments within a busy office setting by anticipating, organizing, and prioritizing incoming work
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with work associates
- Ability to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performance
- Ability to establish rapport with parents
- Experience working with diverse populations including children with disabilities, students with limited English proficiency, students who live in poverty and students who are talented and gifted
- Ability to supervise and process students in the office for illness, medication, discipline, and transportation home
- Demonstrated trustworthiness and ability to handle confidential information with appropriate discretion
