Television/Media Production Technology Education Teacher -  High School
200-day-contract

Seeking qualified individual to provide a challenging technology instructional program at the high school level. Reports to and is evaluated by the Principal.

Length of employment is 200 days (10 months); contract renewable in accordance with School Board policy and the Code of Virginia.

Martinsville High School offers advanced program content which stems from the study of a variety of technologies and challenges the student's ability to apply scientific principles, engineering concepts, and technological systems.

Qualifications:

• Hold or be eligible for licensure in Virginia with Technology Education endorsement, advanced knowledge of content area and demonstrated understanding of standards-based curriculum, research-based instructional strategies, and effective assessment practices
• Ability to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performance
• Understanding of continuous school improvement and Effective Schools research
• Ability to disaggregate and use data to inform instruction
• Experience working with diverse populations including children with disabilities, students with limited English proficiency, students who live in poverty and students who are gifted 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative/shared-leadership environment
