JOB DESCRIPTION
- Works with staff to implement a coherent curriculum aligned with state standards
- Promotes use of consistent instructional framework and evidence-based strategies
- Helps build assessment systems that are aligned with curriculum and instruction priorities
- Works collaboratively with teachers to develop aligned lesson plans
- Supports and facilities school-based professional development
- Assist in developing, coaching, and mentoring new teachers
- Helps staff secure, analyze, and interpret data for promoting instructional improvement
- Supports teachers in using data at the school level to improve individual student learning
- Assists teachers in building an interactive and engaging classroom
- Models instructional strategies and effective pedagogy with teachers in classrooms
- Makes regular classroom visits to support instructional improvement
- Meets regularly (weekly) with the principal to review benchmarks and established data points to assess student progress towards established instructional goals
- Provides feedback to teachers and staff regarding instructional implementation issues
- Serves as coach working with staff to improve their practice
- Provides customized professional development to meet unique student needs and support all subgroups
- Performs other related work as required by the Principal
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree with certification in core subject area.
- Proven record of excellence as a classroom teacher with predictive characteristics of an outstanding administrator.
- Teacher leadership experience required.
